How it works

Eight short clips from the app on an iPhone, in the order you would use them. Each one shows one thing, with what to tap written across the top.

  1. 1. Add an item

Tap Add an item and type the first few letters. Suggestions appear as you type: tap one and it is on the list.

  2. 2. It files itself into aisles

Close Quick Add and everything you added is already under its aisle heading, in the order you walk round the shop. Over a few trips it learns where your shop keeps things.

  3. 3. Tick it off

Tap an item as it goes in the trolley. It stays where it is, struck through, so a glance shows what is left.

  4. 4. Clear the trolley

Tap the tick at the top to clear what you have collected and keep the list short. Changed your mind? The tick becomes Undo. Nothing is lost: cleared items stay in History.

  5. 5. Put things in your own order

Hold an item by its handle and drag it where you want it. The list switches to your own order, and Back to aisles puts it back.

  6. 6. Add another list

Open the menu and tap Add another list. Give it a name, tap the bar to pick its colour, and tap Create List.

  7. 7. Swipe between lists

Each list is a page of its own. Swipe left or right to move between them.

  8. 8. Scan a barcode

Tap the scan button and point the camera at a barcode. ShopLister finds the product, you tap Add, and Done when you have finished.
